Work in a traditional French family hotel for the winter season 2022-23 in Les Gets.

You will be required to have several years relevant work experience  and be ready to help lead a small team of 3 chefs in producing a varied and interesting range of menus that will maintain or improve upon the excellent reputation that the Hotel Christiania has achieved over the past 19 years .

Working with he owner you will jointly decide on the menu choice and style that will  continue an exciting range of dishes that change on a Daily Basis throughout the winter season.

We are looking for a flexible young Head Chef that can command respect from all kitchen staff but also operate a fun and happy environment.

The position would equally be suited to a young Sous Chef looking to have a chance to run his own kitchen and introduce several of his own dishes and expertise.

The restaurant is only open for Breakfast and Dinner with extended opening hours this season to help comply with our COVID regulations. Breakfast : 0730 - 0930 ; Dinner : 1830 - 2130

We produce a choice of 3 3 course evening meals each day in addition to preparing a range of canapés and amuse bouche options on a daily basis. We always offer an interesting  Vegetarian ( usually Vegan ) option each day.

Work will involve split shifts and a conscientious approach to your work will be expected to ensure the smooth running of service at meal times. 

A clean and tidy approach to ones work would be expected with due regard for health and hygiene at all times.
Individuals under your charge should be able to work calmly under pressure and show a willingness to work in all sections. Budgeting and ordering will fall within your remit and hygiene and safety regulations must be adhered to at all times.

French language skills would be an advantage but not essential as help will be given in placing orders.

We have a policy of using fresh local produce where at all possible.

Average of 45/60 covers on a daily basis with up to 110 guests on peak dates.

Requirements

The applicant can be a UK passport holder as a work permit will be requested on behalf of the successful candidate.

EU passport holders do not need a work permit .
